What is an oral cancer "screening"?
A Screening is looking for cancer before an individual has any signs or symptoms of cancer. Screening helps to identify and detect cancer at an early stage, which is a critical factor to a successful response to treatment.

Why Get "Screened"?
Early detection is important to prevent and treat oral cancer. By the time cancer symptoms appear, cancer may have spread to a stage that is less or no longer responsive to treatment.

What happens in a "screening"?
Screenings consist of a palpative exam along the head & neck, shoulders, and around inside the mouth to identify any suspicious lesions.
